Discussion of the Agenda:

I FCIC Fund

Managing the FCIC fund was discussed. The following options were suggested:

  1. Deposit a certain portion to an interest bearing account.

  2. Determine the amount of fund to be maintained for operating expenses.

We should maintain the amount of $6,000.00 in the bank to cover operating expenses and the remaining balance to be invested. The amount of $15,000 is available for investment based on the treasurer’s report. A committee was formed to research on where and how to invest the fund. Members of the committee are Lita Yong, Tita Tigno, Tony Alvarez and Gerry Torres. Tentative date for the committee report will be on December 5. Reporting guidelines will be published in the Ang Tungko newsletter.

II Ultreya Coordinators selection process

It was agreed that the Post Cursillo coordinator would appoint the ultreya coordinator.

Each ultreya center should have the following officers:

  • Coordinator

  • Assistant Coordinator

  • Treasurer

  • Secretary

The term of office will be one year and the secretariat will decide on reappointment.

Coordinators qualification:

  • Active member of the ultreya center

  • Attends the monthly school of leaders session

  • Serves during the cursillo weekend

The coordinator or his/her assigned representative will automatically be a member of the School of Leaders core group.

NOTE: Minutes presented here are paraphrased summaries of discussions and comments of meeting participants. Content and phrasing of the Minutes is subject to final approval by the secretariat members.)

III Creation of Bereavement Ministry

The Post Cursillo coordinator will chair the ministry. The ultreya coordinator will lead the Cursillo rites in their respective areas. A CD/Tape for background music will be provided in the absence of a choir.

IV Appropriation of funds for the welcome of New Graduates

The Rector/Rectora who will host the welcome party will send out a letter to his/her graduates requesting for financial contribution to cover expenses. The secretariat will shoulder shortage of fund if there is any.

V Scholarship Program

Lengthy discussion ensued about the scholarship program. It was agreed that the Rector’s

fee is waived. Scholarship will also be provided to other auxiliary members who are

financially burdened. Gerry Torres will write an article to be published in Ang Tungko to

explain or justify the about the staff fee. The members will have a better understanding on

how and where we allocate their staff fee.

VI Specific duties and responsibilities of Secretariat members

Each secretariat member was asked to write his or her specific duties and responsibilities.

This will guide the incoming set of new secretariat members. This will be an ongoing

process.

VII Specific duties of a rollista

The assigned Rollista is mandated to submit the test of his/her rollo two months before the

dry run. Rollistas will be selected from the list provided by the Speakers Bureau. Gerry

Torres will formulate a guideline. This will be disclosed in the rollista’s appointment letter

from the Rector/Rectora. This will avoid surprises during the actual delivery of the rollo.

VIII Understudy for the Youth Prefect and Co Prefect

The following names were recommended to be the understudies;

  • Charlie Barcelona, Michael Vega, and Larnoe Dungca for Prefect

  • Imelda Mayhew, Ella Lagos and Bubut Ricafort for the Co Prefect

House rules will be formulated on the conduct of the DHL weekend. Likewise the duties

and responsibilities of the Prefect and Co Prefect will be drafted. A suggestion to discuss

pre marital sex during the weekend was raised. A priest will discuss the topic.

  • Adult Staff - $65.00

  • Youth Staff - Waived

IX Approved Secretariat Policies and Procedures

Romy Gabe was asked to compile all the policies and procedures approved by the

secretariat.

Other Matters

The topic on the exclusivity of the cursillo weekend was revisited.

  • The welcome and the clausura/graduation will be co-ed

  • The fun night will be exclusive to each gender

  • Volunteers from the opposite sex to help in the kitchen and the high noon will be allowed

Gerry Torres shared that according to the cursillo manual the weekend is a cloistered environment of a Christian community and should be exclusive to the participants.

The weekend menu was discussed lengthily. Romy Uy submitted a standardized menu during the last secretariat meeting.

Mentorship for the different positions during the weekend will be implemented. This will train future department heads or deans for future classes.

Aurora dela Rosa distributed a letter to Fr. Nestor proposing to create a Liturgy Committee.

(Refer to attached letter)

Calafiguera Foundation is planning to sell the Cursillo land. They are asking each language group if they are still interested with the plan. Since we contributed $3,000.00 as earnest money we (FCIC) will still be involved with the project.

Closing prayer by Gerry Torres.

Meeting adjourned at 5:30 pm
